This past weekend we began our One Prayer series and my prayer for The Orchard and for the church at large was, "Make Us Irreplaceable."
As a part of my talk, I showed this video that we originally created and used in early 2007. The video is straightforward, bothersome, and quite revealing as it illustrates a huge gap between how people view Jesus and how they view the people who are supposed to be representing him.
(And just so you know, the video was not edited to make a point. In the 45 minutes of interviews, we did not receive ONE positive comment for the second half of the video.)

Pickles……….on Pizza?

Ok, so Des Moines is known for pork tenderloin sandwiches and……..Bacon Cheeseburger pizza?
Hmmm… Check this out:
Ground beef, onions, instead of red pizza sauce – a mix of ketchup and mustard (no lie!), cheese, bacon (somewhere on there…), and then get this……………topped with PICKLE slices!
Believe it or not it was pretty good! But only for a couple of slices… I was done after that. Too salty and mustard-y.
Next time I’ll have to try the spam and asparagus pizza.
Or maybe the lemon pepper chicken.
Or perhaps the chili-dog.
For real. They have all of those.
