Interesting read. Not sure what to think of it yet. Might have to let that one sink-in for a few days.
What a breath of fresh air to read something positive. I especially liked “The very parched nature of evangelical visual culture is making people who have grown up in this culture thirsty for beauty,”–this is a very visual culture like it or not and while I used to desire a break from all the images, I now see the purpose and attraction in providing positive, beautiful, stirring imagery. There is a lot of frightening & hopeless visual stimulation. I’d love to see the church at large lead the way in compelling art.
