David Blaine in NYC

Just arrived in DC a couple of hours ago…  Had a great time in NYC & Cape May, NJ.  More on that later.

Our first afternoon in NYC we ran across a large crowd of people standing outside of The Lincoln Center taking pictures and acting all excited.  So, being the curious urban wanderers that we are, Amanda and I decided to mosey our way over to check out what all of the hoopla was about.

Turns out that it was the infamous (and somewhat demented) David Blaine.  David was just about to climb into a giant tank of water where he is going to stay for 7 days and night before topping it all off next Monday by holding his breath under water for 9 minutes breaking the current world record of 8 minutes and 58 seconds.

I’ve watched David Blaine before and have always enjoyed and been intrigued by him, so it was cool seeing him.  Here are a few pictures:

  1. After seven days, the dude’s gonna have some seriously pickled toes
Man, yer in my old stompin’ grounds. :) You MUST eat Cosi’s. The bread is worth the short walk to Pennsyvania & 3rd SE. Starbucks across the street. Sit upstairs – it’s for the coolest locals.
