Our church has been in transition for the last 4 years. Last year, my father and I switched roles. I became the senior pastor of the church he planted 21 years ago. My mother and father are still on the senior leadership team serving alongside me.
I’m in. Just let me know when and how much. If I am unable to be in this first coaching network… scratch that. I am looking forward to being in this first round.
    This will be awesome…

THIS is what I’ve been waiting on. There is nothing like this and the things that can come from this will be amazing. Can’t wait and will be back Monday for more info.

  3. If we can afford it, and you’ll take me, I’m in. All in. Soooo badly need this, not just personally, but throughout churches in the USA. The artists formerly know as the Baptist General Conference (now called Converge) did an initiative a few years ago working toward revitalization, and I think they had some success with it. I know they were piloting it in California in 2005ish, but then I didn’t hear if it made it to other regions. But you are exactly right in that there are places that need revitalization in addition to the church planting that is going on.

Definitely interested in participating! You know some of our story at Cradock from talking at WiBo last year….Where do we find the application?

  5. Richard H says:

If I weren’t 6.5 years in and worn out over fighting for change in a 150 yr old small town (4500) church in a middle of nowhere, I’d probably jump at this. We’ve made some progress in that time, but have lost lots of battles too (new people run off by antics of long termers).

    Exciting news indeed, Scott.
Sounds like things are happening up there!
…gave you a little shout our here:

Summary of video announcement, for those who want the gist of it without watching the whole 3-minute video :)
“In 2010, launching a coaching network / mentoring communities for senior pastors about to begin a transition, as in deep cultural change transition. This will all be done via online meetings via webcam video. More info on Monday.”
Exciting to hear! Could a book be next? :)

This is awesome Scott. As a pastor who has been through this, (and out the other side finally) this is a huge need for the Church.
This is something I think we can be sure that Gods hand is on.

  9. Bob says:

I’m very interested in this. Our church is 140 years old in a town that just celebrated it’s 200 year birthday! In the past 10 years we’ve relocated, jumped from 130 to 700 and are trying to transition to 1400 by 2014. We need all the help and advice we can get. Thanks.

  10. Sounds like a good thing for us here at The Fields Church. Can’t wait to hear about the details.

  11. Randy says:

I can’t believe what I just saw. Someone should show this to the Aurora police and you should have your drivers license revoked! What you did is no different than driving drunk. You need to repent of your foolishness.
