Favorite Cities

Apr 8, 2005

Anyone who knows me well knows how much I love big cities.  There’s just something about the energy, excitement and culture of big cities that I thrive on.  Here are my top five favorite US cities:

1.  New York City
2.  Chicago
3.  Minneapolis (it’s not a "huge" city, but it has a great feel and great culture)
4.  Seattle
5.  Tulsa (KIDDING…)  For real: Atlanta (I have to have a Southern city in there somewhere!)

What’s your top five?

  23. Rick says:

    1) Chicago – Real people, great food, great sports town, America at it’s best.
    2) NY (Manhattan) – All the culture you want 24/7
    3) Las Vegas – Enough said
    4) San Fran – Beautiful cityscape, diverse cultures, great restaurants
    5) South Miami Beach – Best people-watching location in the U.S., great weather

  24. Vancouver is one of my favorites; the next time you’re in Seattle, do your best to make the three hour trip north to visit. It’s well worth the visit.
Minneapolis is cool, also. Though, I live in the suburbs…
Other than that, I’ve been pretty sheltered. I get to visit New York in a couple weeks, but only for a couple days.
Tulsa. Tulsa has the least “urban” downtown I have ever seen. Around 9pm the whole city center is shut down; there’s nobody there. It’s weird.
Although I do have fond memories of skateboardings around the “Center of the Universe” in downtown Tulsa in the middle of the night. There’s this concrete park, and a place you can stand in the middle, and everything you say echoes off of all the buildings around you… very cool.
