I love finding new fonts!

"But Scott, where do you find all of your fonts?  They must cost a lot of money!"

No.  I have never paid a dime for a font.  I find free fonts all the time that look great and work well on the design pieces that I do (Although, I’m not a "graphic designer", so those of you who ARE might disagree with that last statement.

Anyway – here are a few sites that I regularly visit to find great fonts.  For free.  Enjoy!

Chank’s Free Fonts
Extremefonts (excellent!)
Phil’s Fonts
Misprinted Type 3.0
Surfstation (go to navigate and then to 07. typeset) (really cool ones here…)

    I personally like
It has an all around great collection and awesome usability for when you need to find a typeface quickly.

  3. First of all…AMEN to They are actually owned by Steve Young who is on staff at Southeast Christian Church. Check out their about page.
Also…be careful with free fonts. Many sites are buying expenxive fonts and redistributing them for free. I use font face primarily because his free fonts are really free and his pay fonts are clearly pay. I don’t have to worry about ripping anybody off (which is a bad thing to do when you represent the church).

No. You did not just do that. You put a link to Misprinted Type (one of my favorite websites)?!?! Isn’t it bad enough that as soon as “print” magazine did an article on Eduardo Recife that I saw his fonts being used in every other storefront, magazine, and advertisement? Now my once somewhat secret website where I got the coolest fonts for my designs is on where everyone and his brother reads. Not good.
Sorry…I just had to vent. I feel better now. :)
