Aug 25, 2005

Talk_logoWell…..they’ve done it again.  Google Talk.  It’s the latest application out by the creative folks at Google.  I  just downloaded it but haven’t tried it out yet.  SO…try it and IM me!

My screen name is: scotthodge(AT)

Already have it?  What do you think?

Hmmm… interesting. I’m not sure I NEED another IM application, but oh, well. I do love Google.
I think I like the “invite” part of it… more privacy.

  2. Hmm… downloaded it, but it keeps having trouble connecting to server…

  3. nevermind, I got it. Someone contact me at kenny DOT eicher AT gmail DOT com

  4. I got it to download, but there is something that is missing on my computer. Because of this, the program won’t work. :-( Bummer!
Hopefully we can get it fixed at some point, so we can try it out. However, if it requires taking everything off the hard drive, I don’t know if I want to do that. We did that a while ago, and I am still inputting addresses back into my address book on Outlook.

I’m with Betsy on this one. I’ve already got yahoo, msn, AIM and .Mac. I just don’t need another one. What I need is all of them to work together. Once again this comes down to the “good enough” problem. We accept what companies give us and thus we hand over any power we had to them because we don’t make our frustrations known.

    David -
Doesn’t trillian let you combine all of them into one program? It’s been several years since I’ve used trillian, but it seemed like it worked well.

  7. Trillian is a great multi-platform chat client. It will also work with Google Talk, but you have to use Trillian Pro, the $25 premium version or Trillian, to use the Jabber plugin. (Jabber is the open-source Google Talk platform.)
