Dsc08124_1Last night we took Elise trick or treating around the neighborhood.  She was dressed up like Violet from The Incredibles.  She came home with a LOT of candy.

It was also a great opportunity to give her a lesson on tithing.

I was God.

I’ve just moved to the US from the UK and have experienced my 1st US halloween. I was surprised to find that there seems to be no mention of the dichotomy of Christians celebrating what is in effect a pagan holiday>
At my home church in the UK we offer an alternative non-halloween party (called O31) that kids can go to and have fun, but besides the date has no affiliation to Halloween.
    I guess I’m just confused..

That’s great! You were God. Too funny. I determined that each time that night that my kids asked me if they could have another piece of candy, I said sure and held out my hand. 1 for them, 1 for me. However, there was no life lesson in my tactic.
