Home Sweet Home

May 25, 2006

It’s good to be back home in good ‘ol Chicagoland.  Feels kind of weird to be sitting on my couch in front of the TV – mainly because I don’t think I’ve watched more than an hour of television in about two weeks (which will all change tonight when I fire up the TiVo to watch this past week’s two hour long season finale of "24"…

Anyway, it really IS good to be home.  Especially after what felt like about a nine hour flight (special thanks to the guy in front of me who was practically laying in my lap the entire flight…grrrrr….

Amanda and the girls picked me up from O’Hare and as a good excuse to avoid traffic we ran by the Rainforest Cafe for dinner.  Julia, our 18 month old, was in sensory overload.  I pray to God that the giant alligator she ran away from will not show up in her dreams tonight.  One look at that thing and she was Forrest Gump on speed!  Outta there…!

So it’s off to "24" and then to bed.  And then a crazy busy day tomorrow gearing up for the weekend.  Thankfully, I have a weekend off from teaching so I can catch up and jump ahead on a few things.

Goodnight from Chicago.

(PS – Read Ed Stetzer & David Putman’s new book, Breaking The Missional Code on the plane ride home today.  Man…that thing is now marked up and written in all over the place.  Good stuff!  More later.  And btw, thanks Ed & David for sending me a copy for review!  I was honored!)

Have you watched the season finale of 24 yet? What an unpredictable ending!! How did the Chinese find Jack? Can’t they just let the past go?
