MacBook Recovery?

Undercover: a unique theft-recovery application designed from the ground up for Mac OS X.

Transmits internal & external IP addresses of the thief’s location…
Takes regular screenshots of what’s happening on your stolen computer…
iSight photos every six minutes sent directly to you…

This is either a really great idea or a huge waste of time.  But still a pretty innovative use of the MacBook Pro’s technology.

Has anyone purchased this?  C’mon let’s try it out!

I have it. I don’t travel as often as you probably – but I sometimes leave my computer in the car if I am going to go eat, or whatever. So I’d rather be safe then sorry. I have not come across anyone talking bad about it either. I have it on my Powerbook. But works regardless. I can’t really say its a good program or that feature is cool..or anything like that – cause well it runs in the background. :)

http://www.orbicule.com/undercover/recovery.html – perhaps you have already read this…but this is interesting.

  3. I have it as well – on a Mac Book Pro2 and on an old PowerBook G4… Havent had any problems whatsoever with it. In one of their first versions it kept sending me mails everytime I got a new ip address – but I havent had any issues with their new version. I sure recomend it.

I’m thinking this is more of the conspiracy for spying on us with the built in camera. Only now, the spies will know where we are and what we are doing. And we install it for them.
