Praying For Me

I woke up this morning to this email from someone I’ve never met (to my knowledge) and do not personally know:


I just have 1 question for you.  What are looking for God to do for you this summer?  I would like to pray for your need.

I can’t tell you how awesome it felt receiving an email like that.  To know people are praying for me is one of the greatest sources of strength and encouragement in my life – for a lot of reasons, but mainly because I really need prayer.  And lots of it!  Not because I’m "struggling" with anything out of the ordinary or because I’m discouraged or going through a "difficult season", but because I wholeheartedly believe in the power of prayer and know that they are making a huge difference in my life. 

I also know that I am not smart enough, intelligent enough or good enough to do it all on my own. (Please don’t comment on this sentence….) 

So what did I ask him to pray for?  I told him to pray that God would continue his work of stretching me and keeping me out of a place of comfort.  Because as good as

    I recently listened to an Orchard Podcast on a beach in Sado Island, Japan. This should be some 6500 miles from Aurora, IL. Is there some award for the farthest location that an Orchard podcast has been listened to? Can I win if there is?
