Sacred Roots

May 29, 2007

We’re starting a new three week series at The Orchard this Sunday entitled "Sacred Roots".  We’re taking three weeks to journey through three ancient practices of the Christian faith – confession, baptism & communion.

I’m really looking forward to this series because I think that sometimes we forget that behind all of the "cool" ways of doing church there are some very deep and ancient roots at the core of our faith.

A series like this is always good because it reminds us that Christianity is not a modern invention.  I love the phrase Ancient-Future.  An ancient faith that is deeply rooted – yet completely relevant today and leading us into the future.

Nice idea and I think very important so that we don’t lose sight of where we have been.

It’s the whole “nothing is new under the sun” idea… I’ve loved exploring (and continuing) to explore the vast spiritual heritage that is mine. Look forward to the podcasts!

I love it. Recognizing the root as it gives life to the fruit. You guys seem to be doing a stellar job of bringing truth in an innovative way.

Thank Goodness for Podcast! Since I am “THE CHOSEN ONE” for God’s Big Top I havent seen the Sanctuary in over a month and I wont see it for another week. I like being re-energized by the great Series’ we’ve had. New energy is great when ministering to the young ones at the Orchard. This one sounds like The right spark to start summer off.

  7. Nice art, Scott. Props to the designer.
