Story 2010

As many of you know, last October I had the privilege of hosting the first ever Story Conference here in my very own city – Aurora, Illinois.  It was a phenomenal event, and one that I was truly honored to be a part of.

Well Story is coming back to Chicago again this year on September 23rd & 24th, 2010.

But this year, the experience is going to look a bit different.

For one, Story 2010 will be smaller and more intimate. There are only 500 seats being offered at this year’s event.  Over half are already taken.

Secondly, this year’s experience will be specifically designed for “creatives”.  (And yes, that may sound a bit “exclusive”…..and you’re right, it is!)   This year’s experience isn’t about trying to connect with every church leader in America.  Instead, it’s aimed at those whose life’s work is dedicated to some sort of creative or artistic endeavor.  And I think it’s a brilliant idea.  The more specifically the target audience is defined, the richer it will be for them.

And lastly, the majority of this year’s presenters are people who most of us have never heard of - yet, who’s work has

impacted countless numbers of people. Check out the list here.

One of the people I’m looking forward to introducing this year is David Wenzel.  David is the founder of Dot&Cross.  This is the company behind some of the tremendous short films we’ve seen from people and org’s like Nooma, Marcus Buckingham, Tim Keller, Donald Miller, etc…

I’m looking forward to hearing and learning from David and several others who will be with us in just a little over two months at

Story.  I hope you’ll be there.  You can register here. (And btw….the early bird deadline is July 16th and seats are filling up quickly.)

Scott, do you happen to know if there’s a DVD or recording of last year’s “Story” available to watch?

Also, has anyone told you that you kind of resemble Frank on the Bachelorette in eye-wear and speaking gravitas? (Of course by making that comparison, that would mean confessing to their pastor that they watch the Bachelorette….)

story rocks, but i’m conferenced out for the year…i dig what Ben has done and it looks amazing.

Hey Eric – thanks for the compliment. It was a compliment, right? ;)

They do have a DVD available of last year’s story. Not sure how to obtain one. I’d suggest contacting http://www.benarment.com. I’m sure he can tell you how to order one.

  4. I didn’t make it to Story last year, but am going to be there this time. The speaker list and topics sound amazing – SO pumped to be a part of it!

Scott, your blog looks amazing. So excited to have you emcee the event again this year.

  6. Eric Olsen says:

Thanks for the tip, Scott. Ben informed me that they are unfortunately sold out of the 2009 DVDs. Even more of a reason to make sure we see 2010 LIVE!

And yes, Frank is currently the Bachelorette’s #1 pick, so it’s a compliment. :)
