Study & Writing Day

Oct 26, 2006

This isn’t good.

It’s Thursday – my "study & writing day."  The only problem is that I feel like writing and studying about as much as I feel like chewing on a flaming cactus.

Sunday should be good…

    mmmm… flaming cacti…

  2. Terri says:

It’s the gloom and doom outside today. Maybe a trip to Florida would inspire you…

  3. Joel says:

I know what you mean… It has started to feel like God is stopping and preventing me from working this week… maybe He is… maybe we need to rest.

  4. Doug says:

I pray that you’ll encourage Scott and give him and extra special measure of energy, wisdom and discernment. You have BIG things planned for The Orchard under Scott’s leadership, and the evil one will do anything within his power to make the work harder.
I pray that you bind the evil one in the name of your Son so that Scott can be clear, focused and on fire for you and your message for us (without the need for flaming desert foliage).
    In your name I pray!
PS Also Father, please deliver an extra “shot” of caffeine.

You could take the approach of Elijah when he was fleeing for his life and praying to die…take a nap, have a snack, then go to a quiet place to be with the Lord. Very refreshing. See 1 Kings 19 for the ACTUAL story. Paraphrase mine, of course.

  6. Joni Ruhs says:

Oh, and I’m thrilled that according to this story, snacking and napping are actual spiritual disciplines. So enjoy.

  7. You know what I do when I don’t feel like doing the hard part of creative work? I procrastinate. I spend 2 hours researching the next cool toy that I really “need” for ministry.
I never said this was a good thing, but it sure is fun!

  8. Rob Petrini says:

Hey mate… that’s about how I feel every day! Try copious amounts of Coke and chocolate(a suggestion from my wife!), it should have you bouncing off the walls in no time!

  9. Bekah says:

Mmmm… Flaming Cactus is my favorite! I think they’re going to start selling this at Starbucks soon! (Just so you can eat it and then have an excuse for not doing what you have to!) :-)
