Stuffed

The somewhat new sushi kick that I’m on landed me and a friend at Swordfish Contemporary Sushi for a late lunch today. 

Today’s selection was a spicy octopus roll, a shrimp tempura maki roll and a "special of the day" which was a deep fried crab roll stuffed with lightly grilled asparagus and cucumber.  Mmmm….!

Loved it all except for the octopus.  I struggled with the raw chopped tuna on top.  Not quite there yet…  (But I loved the thinly sliced Fuji apples!)

Anyway – great place and definitely worth a visit if you’re in the Batavia/Geneva area.

Then, to top off the day, Amanda and I had a late dinner at Rizzo’s in downtown Naperville. 

Rizzo’s is a trendy restaurant/martini bar.  Great atmosphere, but LOUD!  Not the best place for "date night" conversation.  Lot’s of "Huh?  What did you say?" going on…

I had the rigatoni portofino which is rigatoni pasta in a spicy cream sauce with grilled chicken, sun dried tomatoes and porcini mushrooms.  And spicy it was!  Amanda had the baby greens salad featuring mixed greens with mandarin oranges, bleu cheese and toasted walnuts and a bowl of asparagus soup.

So now it’s off to bed.  I can’t think about food anymore – I’m stuffed!  G’nite!

    Not the raw fish! My Starbucks habit is expensive enough. (mmm

  2. Looking at suckers on something I’m eating doesn’t in any way do anything to increase my appetite.
