The Night Before

Jan 8, 2007

This is the worst part of it all – the NIGHT BEFORE.  No matter how much I love traveling, I absolutely hate leaving my family.  Partially because I tend to worry a lot when I leave them and I find myself having to constantly keep my thoughts in the right place.  If I’m not careful, I start thinking that their safety and well being is dependent upon me.  (That would be atrocious, wouldn’t it?!)

I’m down to 5 "to do’s" on my list before I leave tomorrow morning.  Then it’s off to O’Hare to board Japan Airlines for a little over 13 hours before taking a short break in Tokyo and then another 5 1/2 hours to Bangkok, Thailand.

Everyone keeps asking me if I’m dreading the long flight and to tell you the truth, I don’t know!  I’ve never flown this far before!  So I’m hoping to get some sleep, do some reading, some writing and a little movie watching.  I’m also hoping to dig in to Photoshop & Illustrator a bit more as well.  And oh yeah…  I’m praying to God that I don’t snore on the plane!  Seriously!  They might actually throw me off.  But if they do, I hope hope hope hope it’s right over Honolulu!  They need Jesus too…

Keep an eye on the blog!  Hoping to take you along on the journey as much as possible.  Should be arriving in Bangkok on Wednesday just a little before midnight local time – which will be a little before noon Chicago time.

Time travel…  You gotta love it!

Seeing “hope”, “Hawaii” and “Honolulu” in the same sentence reminds me of that great Church on Oahu – New Hope – which I’ve been fortunate enough to visit a few times when vacationing there.
If they do throw you off there, check out the Church, Scott!
    Peace & Blessings

Your life is NEVER going to be the same…and the lives of those people…wow. Thank you for going. Thank you for giving, sacrificing…missing the premiere of 24…It will all be worth it.
And besides, Jack would totally go too. :) We are praying for you.

I suggest doing some “in your seat” exercizes during the flight…perhaps some shoulder shrugs, ankle circles, and glute contractions
