Treo 700p

Jul 21, 2006

Forgot to update everyone on my phone situation…

Ended up going with the Treo 700p through Verizon.  It took me forever to get it to sync with my Mac, but I found a program called Missing Sync that fixed the problem immediately.

So far, I’m impressed.  Emails, text messages, phone quality and clarity have all been solid.  Even the camera takes pretty decent pictures (1.3megapixels.)

One of the features I love about the phone is how I can use it as a modem to connect my notebook at broadband speed.  I ran a speed test today and found myself at 405kbps on downloads and at 116kpbs on uploads – via Bluetooth connection.  While it isn’t T1 or Cable it’s still pretty dang cool that I can have high speed anywhere/anytime as long as I have a signal.  Amazing, isn’t it??

So thanks everyone for your feedback!  I think I’ve found a winner!  BYE BYE NEXTEL!!!

First, I’ve been following your blog for awhile now. Thanks for the perspective and keep up the great work.
Second, I converted to a Treo about 1.5 years ago – and it’s one of the most effective ministry tools I use. In fact, we record our podcast “Lunch on the Church” all to the SD memory card on my Treo over lunch at McDonald’s. Arteries heart your heart out. Check out the podcast at

  4. Welcome to the world of Treo. My 600 is still holding strong after two years. A great tool!

  6. Scott, you’ll love it. I have a 650 and it truly makes life easy.
