Update on Todd Mitchell – Tue Night

Aug 20, 2008
21 Comments

Hey everybody, this is a tough one to write….

Tonight (Tuesday), at around 10pm, Todd Mitchell passed away.

I was with Todd and his family at the time of his passing, and even though it was extremely difficult for everyone, it was also a BEAUTIFUL moment as we all worshiped, prayed, and shared scriptures of comfort with one another.

As you can imagine, Todd’s wife Paula is hurting pretty bad right now, but is resting in the faith she has that Todd is now in God’s presence.  She also wants everyone to know how much she appreciates the outpouring of prayer, love, and support.  It really is making a difference!

We will be updating the blogs in the next couple of days with arrangement information.  In the mean time, please keep Paula, her boys – Jackson, Sam, and Luke – and the entire Mitchell family in your prayers over these next several hours and days.

Thank you so much for your love and care…

    Dear Scott,
I attend Charter Oak Church in PA. I heard you speak at Granger last year. My 41 year old next door neighbor dies last Thursday, father of 3. I empathize with you. May the God of life and comfort fill you and your community.

I’m a fellow BP employee. I work in Maryland and I didn’t know Todd, but I heard about his illness from a friend who works with the Chicago business. I am a Christian and have been lifting this up in prayer. So glad to hear he was a Christian. He is now home with the Lord. We’ll pray for his family as they grieve. Thank you for this update.

  10. Ben says:

    My condolences to Todd’s family.
I’ve worked with him during the past few years, and am glad to see that his family has such a strong, caring support group. While we mourn our own loss, we celebrate that Todd has been united with God.
    Job 19:26-27
after my skin has been destroyed,
    yet in my flesh I will see God;
    I myself will see him
with my own eyes—I, and not another.
How my heart yearns within me!
Please let his family know that our prayers are with them.

I would like to express my love and deepest gratitude to all of my sister’s church family & friends, especially Pastor Scott & Mike (Kristin) Jones. She has felt your love, compassion, & prayers. And I have seen a sense of peace in her eyes even as the tears rolled down her face. I know that peace could only come from God.
    All is Mercy, Lyn
